Hilltop Community Meeting Minutes

January 25, 2014

Our Winter Party and brief business meeting were held at the home of Lance and Donna Optican this year.

The party was attended by 16 families, a majority of the 30 homes of the Hilltop Civic Association, plus four invited guests:  Lillian Denicoff, Norka Ratnavale and her two sons, Eric and Oliver Whatley.  It was wonderful to see Lillian again and to welcome Norka and her family to Hilltop!  There were 31 individuals in all.

President’s Message

Bryan welcomed everyone and called a very brief meeting together.  He introduced and gave a special welcome to our guests.

He stated that Ron and Glenn, Hilltop’s Co-Chairmen of the County Liaison Committee, are following the zoning changes taking place throughout the County with special concern for potential changes at the Cabin John Shopping Center.  The committee will report to the community if anything happens that we need to know about.

Treasury Report

Ian reported that the state of the treasury on December 31st was $3,150.00.  Of that, $2,000.00 has been allocated for maintenance and landscaping of the Hill in the coming year.

Celia, in her role as Assistant Treasurer, was able to collect $550.00 in outstanding dues, and others responded to Ian’s letters, so at this time all 30 homes in the Association (two households have declined to participate) are up-to-date.  The total balance currently in the treasury (thru the 2013 dues collection) is $3,950.00.

Dues for 2014 ($150.00) are due from each household by February 15, 2014.

Conclusion

Bryan thanked Lance and Donna for offering their home for the party and Lynette Melcher, Hilltop’s Social Committee Chairperson, for her role in organizing the party.
